I snatch odd moments during the day to browse through the Odd News from various sources hoping to find at least one story that I can write a commentary on and, hopefully, get readers interested enough to post their own thoughts. Sometimes I break from my news perusal because I need to get back to my primary job, web design. But other times I break out of frustration. Call me old-fashioned if you want — but a vast majority of these ‘odd news’ stories show the decay of today’s moral values.

One story I read today reported on a mother driving her son to a gang fight. Another was about peepholes in the women restroom of a restaurant. Come on, if you are a lover of the odd news then I know you saw these stories and more that were equally as bad.

What happened to the days when parent’s stood up and took a stand with their children for what was right? What has happened with children’s respect for their parents? Drugs, alcohol and greed are the primary ingredients of many of the Odd News that we read today.

Stories such as the one about health officials using Facebook to trace the location of a woman who had been exposed to a rabid bat are the happy stories; the successes. They are also becoming a rarity in the media.

Such a shame …..
